Sailing on The Lord Sheffield, St. Maarten

Those who loved the Pirates of the Caribbean movies will love Lord Sheffield's Tall Ship Adventure--St. Maarten's sophisticated pirate ship. Sail the calm Caribbean Sea aboard The Lord Sheffield, a square-rigged 72-foot-long tall ship. The Lord Sheffield offers both day and sunset sails along the island's Caribbean coast.

During the 4 1/2 hour day sail, The Lord Sheffield sails from Great Bay Marina along the island's Caribbean coast and drops anchor at the beautiful Baie Longue near the exclusive La Samanna resort. Here guests can snorkel or swim in the sparkling waters and enjoy this picture-postcard setting while the crew of The Lord Sheffield prepares lunch. If they are so inclined, guests can also climb the 15-foot-mast, walk the plank, and take the wheel. Food and drink is included in the day sail. Guests enjoy hors d'oeuvres--French bread and cheese, smoked mussels, and fruit tray--and a lunch of barbecue chicken or ribs. The Lord Sheffield has an open-bar serving beer, rum punch, juices, soft drinks, and water. Snorkeling equipment and swim noodles are provided for those wishing to explore the Caribbean waters.

Sunset cruises begin with a cocktail party on the dock. The Lord Sheffield departs about 5:00 for a 2/12 to 3 hour trip that includes plenty of fun, food, and drink. The ship offers an open bar serving wine, champagne, beer, some mixed drinks, juices, soft drinks, and water. Guests enjoy a variety of hors d'oeuvres as well as The Lord Sheffield's famous barbecue chicken and ribs.

The Lord Sheffield departs from the Great Bay Marina in St. Maarten. The Lord Sheffield is a registered Canadian ship and is sailed by an experienced crew from Canada. The windjammer is also equipped with a diesel auxiliary engine and has all safety features. Lord Sheffield's Tall Ship Adventure is suitable for all ages.

If you'd like to sail like a pirate, The Lord Sheffield awaits you.
